Personality (include several weaknesses and strengths): Marlene is the spoiled little rich girl that everyone would think she is. As the second girl she is not really an heir, her older sister would be, so she has pretty much been left to her own devices. Everything has always been provided for her and she was cute and coy enough that she never really had to work hard for anything. But while with so many it would just end there Marlene has tried very hard to defy what she almost thinks she was born to be.

While she is not that hardest worker, Marlene is ambitious. Instead of living off her parents still she has a job and earns her own money, paying for her own things. A prideful girl she wants to be respected as a person instead of just a McKinnon. She will throw her weight around to get what she wants and to take down who she has to in order to get there. She was sorted into Slytherin for a reason after all.

But while she has a cruel streak that is very present and really is one of those people who will be cruel just to be cruel, she loves her friends and family dearly. It takes a bit for her to trust people, especially given how most of her old housemates have turned out, but once someone has her trust she is willing to do just about anything for them. The people she cares about are hers and she does not like the idea of anyone taking them away from her.

As for her ideas, her sister has been one of the main influences in her life. Four years older, Marlene adores Nadine and when her sister came out that she was dating a muggle, Marlene had trouble accepting it at first. But as things have continued she has fallen more into her sister’s view of things. Though she will still every once in a while have lapses in judgement.

Marlene is a little taller than average, reaching up to 5’7”. She’s a healthy sized woman and while she flatly refuses to tell anyone her actual weight she is not someone who is sickly skinny. She’s a pretty girl and she knows it too, with long dark brown hair and dark eyes. While she’s not some model looking girl she can definitely turn heads while she’s walking. Her clothes are always top of the line and the height of fashion, and she does dabble in muggle clothes because there is just so much more to chose from.

Biography (three paragraphs minimum):
Marlene was born the second McKinnon girl in what must have been a move just to frustrate her parents. The two had not wanted to have another child but upon finding out they were they had hoped that they would get a male heir this time. Instead Marlene came out. The only real proof of their want of a boy is found in her middle name and Marlene was taken home to her older sister. Her childhood was a simple one. They did not leave home often, but the house was big and Marlene grew to adore her older sister Nadine, following her about and trying to do what she did, even following her to the tutor when Nadine got one.

When Marlene’s letter from Hogwarts arrived it was only to be expected. Nadine was a fourth year Slytherin and Marlene was sorted into the house same as her sister. The hat had taken a bit to decide before settling on the fact that Marlene was not brave enough to be in Gryffindor. The idea that she had almost been put there irked Marlene and she has never told anyone about it. But in Slytherin she settled down easily enough. For the most part they were people she knew already anyway and those she did not were easy enough to get along with.

Marlene did well in Hogwarts. Though no one would have known her marks were very good in nearly everything but potions, which she cheated in because really she had no talent for it at all. Charms was by far her favorite and her strongest magic. Outside of class she was popular, though never really trusted by the Gryffindor side of things. But odd for a Slytherin she actually made friends with Hufflepuffs and not just Slytherins and Ravenclaws. In her eyes Hufflepuffs were better friends simply for the fact she did not have to wonder when they were going to stab her in the back. Needless to say that fact was not appreciated by her own house but Marlene was vicious enough to stay in some position of importance there.

But it was the summer before sixth year that really changed Marlene. She met her first muggle ever in the form of her older sister’s boyfriend. And unlike what her housemates had said he really was not bad at all. In fact he went more out of his way to get her to like him than any of her sister’s other boyfriends had. And her sister seemed to be in love. Marlene could see why she was, he was an amazing guy.

After that she found it even harder to fit in with her house. Many of them were going on about this war building up and Death to Mudbloods and things like that. While Marlene played along enough to stay in her status, she found herself drifting more and more to the people who seemed to share what she thought and who she felt would actually protect her while this war went on.

Upon graduation Marlene was not really sure what to do. She had managed to get an internship at a contractual law office, something she was very interested in. Nadine helped her find a place of her own and when she was contacted by the Order she felt she really had no choice but to join. At least being part of the Order would offer some protection and for once she felt like she needed to do something to stop what was going on. If she did not than it would be her family that would suffer the consequences.

Upon joining the Order she has recently found that she is more willing to fight that she would have thought before. She wants her world to be stable again, to make sense. With the predicament her sister has placed herself in, Marlene has no other choice but to fight since Nadine won’t.
